A Magical Premiere in Brussels
Brussels, known as the home of the Smurfs, was transformed into a whimsical Smurf-themed paradise for the world premiere of The Smurfs Movie, set to release in Indian theaters on July 18.
This film marks a vibrant comeback for the beloved Smurfs, combining live-action with animation to deliver a touching and comedic narrative. Global superstar Rihanna not only lends her voice to Smurfette but also takes on the role of producer and contributes to the film's soundtrack.
At the premiere, Rihanna expressed her excitement, stating, “It’s hilarious! It’s fun. The whole movie has a great sense of humour. It’s very nostalgic for people who grew up on the Smurfs. Smurfs was such a huge part of my childhood and to know that my kids are going to have that moment too… that’s exciting.”
This fresh interpretation follows Smurfette as she embarks on a thrilling quest to rescue Papa Smurf, who mysteriously vanishes. Alongside a new group of Smurfs, she unearths hidden secrets of their enchanting world while confronting a formidable villain with sinister motives. Directed by Chris Miller, known for works like Shrek the Third and The Lego Movie, the film boasts an impressive voice cast that includes James Corden, Dan Levy, Amy Sedaris, and Nick Offerman.
